Charles Yinger the veteran's vet passes at 57

A World War II veteran who lost both legs, he helped form and lead veteran groups in Frederick Maryland, logged 3500 hours counseling veterans at the Martinsburg VA center, and inspired barrier-free accessibility through a 1975 wheelchair access milestone in the city. He was Md’s Outstanding Veteran of the Year in 1976 and is remembered in a DAV tribute noting his dedication to helping others despite his own injuries. His service included leadership roles with AMVETS Post 2 and DAV Washington & Lee Post 5, with memorial services planned at the Frederick Church of the Brethren.
