Gov. Harry A. Hughes announced no money for new U.S. 15 construction in the current fiscal plan. Instead bids will be advertised next February for three contracts to complete the final 0.9 miles south of Thurmont, aiming to break ground after July 1, 1963. The $22.5 million project will focus on rehabilitation, maintenance, and safety across the state highway network with $42 million in new funds allocated statewide.
