Horticulture at Vo Tech Builds Greenhouse and Grows Taxonomy
Francis Scott Key senior Kathy Black and peers study horticulture at Carroll County Vo-Tech under Roland Backhaus. The class, about 10 students, grows and sells plants and raised over eight thousand dollars by building a greenhouse themselves with help from the masonry department. Debbie Graham notes the unusual task of installing glass. Backhaus values small class size and vocational testing.
