Memorial Ground Plans Approved by Aldermen
The Aldermen endorsed the Sears plan for Memorial Ground after executive and park commissions recommended it over Maxwell. Sears’s design centralizes the memorial with a marker and walks, aiming for an attractive ground for a city the size of Frederick. County commissioners will review soon to share half the cost and start improvements.

Sears plans praised as best suited for cemetery grounds
City officials and commission members backed Mr. Sears plan for memorial grounds though Mr. Maxwell also received compliments from Mr. Cram and the executive committee. A marker for those buried in the old Reformed cemetery will bear historical details. An ordinance authorized a terra cotta sewer on east Third Street. Amendments sought pavement on College Avenue and an extended sidewalk on North Market Street. The fishing creek storage dam dedication was announced for next week and a list of bills was approved.
