26 years ago Butch Gardner of Baltimore County won the Shopping Center Cup for top riding in the large pony jumper division at the Frederick Horse Show held at Moxley Field near Tjamsville. Susan Ritchie captured the medium pony hunter division near Tjamsville. Fredericktowne Savings & Trust completed its first public offering since 1828, with 8,000 shares subscribed and books closed, announced by president W. Meredith S. Young. The Master Plumbers Association of Frederick County met at the Eagles Home on East Patrick Street with 18 members and 3 guests, including Alan Long of Frederick Gas Co. and James and Richard Yates of Watts Regulator Co, who presented a safety film.
