Sertoma scholarship aiding Huffer advances in cancer research
Teresa Lee Huffer, a Frederick Community College nursing scholar, receives the F. Davis Shafer II Memorial Nursing Scholarship with Sertoma support for progress in NIH Intramural Research at NCI-FCRC Fort Detrick. She engages in cancer immunology projects, helps run a phlebotomy course, and studies clinical nursing amid ongoing NIH research. An annual Sertoma award and a separate $250 stipend were presented by Herman B. Miller. A Town & Country Properties yard and bake sale for Children’s Hospital returns June 5 in Shady Grove Medical Center parking lot, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
