Warm Spell Highlights Heat Records and Storms
Last night tied for warmest of the month as temperatures hit 98 degrees, with forecasts of hotter weather and possible thunder showers. A lightning strike started a fire near the Sala manager fire tower, burning over a quarter acre before containment. Rain and thunder cooled the area, while vegetation improves slowly and crops show mixed prospects of hay and pasture.
