Streets Named in Frederick County History Paper Review
Frederick County Historical Society meets at Dr John and Bliss Joanson home to discuss "The Streets of Frederick" and how town streets were laid out. Patrick Claney named main street Patrick in 1745, with Church, Court, Record, and Bentz streets among early paths. County historian Prof George Duglass outlines Frederick’s economic history up to 1850, stressing water travel, ferries, and road improvements.
