Move to End Child Labor Gains Momentum in Congress
Washington March 19 The national child labor committee debates a session of the Congress of Social Workers to plan for a campaign to secure an amendment to the constitution authorizing legislation to prohibit child labor in industry. The proposal, reported by the Senate Judicial Committee, would authorize Congress with states to limit or prohibit work by those under 18 and aims to meet Supreme Court objections.
