Tax rate boost proposed by Montgomery County officials
Acting County Manager Jeptha Carr proposed a 10 cent increase in the present 1.87 per 100 assessed valuation. The basic 1.97 tax rate would fund a 174.2 million dollar budget, about 1.1 million above this year. The plan also raises suburban land tax to 10 cents per 100 and expands a recreation tax.
