Negro Slain and Suspect Captured in Frederick Killing
Frederick detectives pursued a murder case in the eastern city sector after a Baltimore man, John W. Graves, 41, colored, was captured by Sgt. Dan Swomley near the fairgrounds. Graves is charged with killing Eugene Howard, 46, a Frederick veteran, during a dispute over Graves wife. Authorities say Graves fled east on East Church Street, was found with a small pistol but died from multiple stab wounds. The arrest followed a four hour, floodlight aided search involving state and city police.
