Commissioners save FHS renovation project
The Frederick High School renovation, a $5.2 million plan, will proceed after the Frederick County Board of Commissioners approved an emergency pre budget allocation of about $20,000 from contingency funds and unspent school system money. The move followed the Inter Agency Commission's refusal to add funds to cover an $80,000 shortfall and a push by the school board to avert delay. School officials said work could begin without delay, with further relief found in a $75,000 contingency fee and surplus from the New Market project.
