Prominent Cleveland Contractor Killed Watching Circus Parade

Robert McQuaid a former city councilman and leading building contractor died at the Cleveland circus exhibition grounds when a six horse truck ran away. He and wife were in a carriage as crowds entered the tent. the vehicle struck them and the wheels passed over McQuaid. Mrs McQuaid escaped unharmed. The incident caused a crowd panic and several others were lightly hurt before the horses were checked.
