Negro better off as slave claims spark debate at Georgia meeting
Atlanta physician Dr J C Olmsted told the Georgia State Sociological Society that educated Negro women at Booker Washington’s Tuskegee school are unreliable as servants. He also argued the Negro is better off mentally morally and physically as a slave. The discussion included Rev C A Langston and Dr T B Oertel among others. Senator Quay leaves Washington for Meriden Pa to stay with his brother. Hayti spokesman says the republic is perfectly quiet with no uprising or threat reported.

Hearst Delegates Probe Shift at Indianapolis Ballot
Twenty four delegates favor Parker for the presidential nomination were chosen by district caucus while ten support Hearst.
