City weighs state townhouse for affordable housing project
Frederick officials eyed converting a state owned townhouse at 301 St. Market St into city run housing after a 40 year lease was signed with the state. The plan includes ten efficiency units with shared baths and kitchens, requiring a zoning change for single room occupancy. Mayor Grimes urged the city lease and use the site rather than the county.
