Medicaid Patient Dies Before Heart Transplant List
Jonathan Harris, a 40 year old man with a degenerative heart condition, died at Johns Hopkins Hospital after being hospitalized for a week and near transfer to a transplant waiting list. His family had learned his Medicaid approval only 24 hours before his death.
