IBM Researchers claim superconductors carry 160000 amperes per sq cm
IBM researchers at Yorktown Heights report a method to produce superconducting films that carry more than 160000 amperes per square centimeter at 77 degrees Kelvin. The result suggests current densities sufficient for many uses and marks progress toward practical high current superconductors.
