Rockefeller Squeezed as Crowd Thrusts Him at Pier

May 11 New York. John D Rockefeller and his party were caught in an inrush of people aboard the steamship Kaiser Wilhelm. They were pushed and pulled along the pier until landing on the deck, struggling for breath as the dense crowd surged around them. The Delay aboard the ship near the quay sparked the crush and the scramble among visitors attempting to exit the liner.
