New York May 11 Two round bout between Joe Chernski of California and Denver Ed Smith was stopped by Referee Roche after two minutes eight seconds of the fourth round Smith fouled repeatedly until Chernski won the decision. A prior round saw Smith struggle to reach his feet, and the field was crowded with fouls.

She is penniless in London, begs friends to wire funds for passage home, and claims the baron is a detective from Still Well's agency who vanished after settling a hotel bill.
