Lizzie Cunningham, a shop girl, was found unconscious with friend Mary Fallon in a gas-filled apartment at 206 Eighth Avenue on January 6. She was treated with a blood transfusion from Amos A. Lincoln, a telegraph lineman, and after a lengthy recovery period she was sent home with some stiffness, while doctors said she remained sound in mind and body.

A Morning Fire Destroys Baumgardner Stable
An early morning alarm reported a blaze at Mr. John Baumgardner’s stable in Winnehardt’s alley between Fourth and Fifth streets. The fire, likely incendiary, consumed the wooden structure and its contents including hay, straw, corn, and two horses. insurance covered the building, while Baum gardner’s losses exceeded a thousand dollars beyond the insured value. Firemen prevented spread to nearby houses as hoses burst. efforts to rebuild will begin after the loss is settled. All But One Escape From Martinsburg Jail Break
About four o'clock Sunday morning seven or eight prisoners escaped from the county jail in Martinsburg West Virginia. The eight escaped was spotted by a railroad watchman. Names include Francis Martin Charles Harrington James Ford War Cross Thomas Sturry Albert Mark and Oscar Williams a negro boy. They escaped by sawing through the ceiling of their cell then using a rope made from blankets to descend about twenty five feet. One prisoner James Hess reached the wall opening but was forced back inside as officers pursued. The jail is an old unsafe stone structure.

Escaped inmate George Cox again attempts from Montevue Hospital
George Cox an inmate at Montevue Hospital attempted escape yesterday morning by tying eight sheets into a rope and removing an iron grate on a fourth floor window. Clerk Mr Morgan threatened to shoot to deter Cox, who then climbed back inside. Cox has been confined since 1932 and has made over twenty escape attempts.
