Housing affordability key topic at Frederick County LWV meeting
James Upchurch of Interfaith Housing of Western Maryland spoke on May 3, noting 11 projects in Frederick, Washington, and Allegany counties totaling 241 units from single family homes to elderly apartments. He highlighted national awards and urged planners to add affordable housing to the county agenda while calling for broader government action. A Korean Veterans meeting is set for May 14 at Amvets Post 2 with entry via the side door.
