David Lee Gaver of Myersville Maryland is recovering at University Hospital Baltimore after a kidney transplant on April 23. The 20 year old, who turned 20 on April 26, received the donor kidney from his sister Joyce Harshman in a four hour operation with six doctors. He had been ill most of his life and used an artificial kidney machine for a year, with several hundred units of blood. He was admitted January 6 in serious condition and had both kidneys removed to prepare for the transplant. The operation was delayed twice due to his condition.
