Fire at Hope Hill burns trees on Nelson Holland property
The county pumper from the independent Hose Company responded to a small fire on Nelson Holland’s Hope Hill property around 6 o’clock Monday evening. Several needle pine trees were burned before firefighters doused the flames. They cited a light cigarette as the likely cause given fears of wind-driven spread. A separate note mentions a University of Illinois study on when children learn the grammar they will use.
