ANNAPOLIS AP The state auditor calls for written guidelines on staff travel and meals for the governor's office, criticizing absence of formal rules. The governor's office cites special conditions making fixed guidelines impractical. The audit also reviews the governor's mansion fund, noting inadequate accounting and a $15,473 savings account unused since 1968, to be handled with other state funds once law is signed.

Two crewmen missing after Patti B capsizes off Maryland

The Patti B fishing boat capsized in 55 degree water off Ocean City Maryland at about 4 20 a m. Two crewmen were trapped in the wreckage as divers from the Atlantic Strike Force prepared to search. Captain and one crewman rescued. both survivors in good condition.

Bail reduced for Virginia man tied to child pornography ring

A federal magistrate cut bail for William Moulton Inglis from 250000 to 150000 after he quit his job as a Defense Communications Agency computer specialist. Prosecutors warned Inglis could flee to avoid extradition threats, citing a co defendant believed to be in Guatemala. Inglis faces charges of conspiring to use and transport young boys for prostitution in pornographic productions distributed nationwide and in Europe. Cattle herd sale tops $932,700 at Wye Plantation

More than 100 Black Angus bulls were sold at the Wye Plantation sale near Queenstown Maryland drawing about 1 500 breeders and spectators. Franchester of Wye sold for 100 000 to a buyer from Oregon Contact of Wye went to a Midwestern syndicate for 115 000. 115 lots totaled 932 700 to set a Maryland Angus bull sale record.
