Frederick youth injured in Ride-A-Bike crash
A 10 year old Frederick resident remained in satisfactory condition at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a Ballenger Creek Pike collision during the FCARC Ride-A-Bike event on April 30. The rider, Bruce Sheckler III, was struck head on by a southbound car driven by Jimmy Baugher of Adamstown. State police said Baugher, a volunteer firefighter, was speeding and charging with exceeding the posted limit at 2 pm.

IAC approves Cam Construction to build Liberty High School
WESTMINSTER The state Interagency Committee for Public School Construction approved a 37.1 million Cam Construction bid to build Liberty High School in southern Carroll County. The award includes a 6.9 million base bid with two alternates for a parking lot and pyramid windows. two other alternates for outdoor tennis and basketball courts were rejected. The county may fund some alternates later with Project Open Space.
