Joseph Edward Shorb a 30 year old World War II veteran of Thurmont was killed and three others injured in a Route 15 crash six miles south of Gettysburg Pa The injured include Emily B Speelman 17 of Littlestown Pa Alba S Kennell 68 of Waynesboro and his wife Martha E Kennell 54 The Speelman girl suffered severe facial lacerations requiring sixty four stitches Doctors said Shorb died from a crushed chest and internal injuries The crash occurred when Shorb jammed on brakes while traveling toward Gettysburg The Chev rolett convertible skidded 90 to 100 feet and across the highway colliding with the Kennell Cadillac The Evans and Hendershot cars followed and were not injured The four vehicles sustained about 2000 in damage Funeral services for Shorb were planned in Thurmont authorities said

Two Are Hurt Near Brunswick In Loudoun County
Two Leesburg residents were injured Saturday around 9 30 p m when their car from Brunswick went out of control on a sharp curve near Lorettaville and overturned. Archie Hawkins 38 and Miss Fanny Maude Watts 25 were taken to Loudoun Hospital with apparently non serious injuries. The car was badly wrecked and said to have caught fire but motorists put out the flames. State Police are investigating.
