Fire at Foxville Damages House. Insurance Suspected
A two story residence owned by Chas Toms in Foxville was destroyed by a fire believed to originate in a defective flue. The blaze, which sparked at about six pm Monday, required neighbors to form a brigade and water was drawn from a spring to fight the flames. The Toms family moved downstairs furniture before the home of six rooms was consumed. Sparks endangered nearby Charles Dune’s residence but were extinguished with slight roof damage. Firefighters tried to save adjoining property as onlookers gathered.
