Shooting Victim Held Fined $100 After Early Afternoon Shooting

Joseph O Shane of New London reported as injured when David Roberts of Reel's Mills fired a shotgun at him around 3 pm. Shane later drove toward the sheriff's office and was arrested for operating a vehicle under liquor influence. He was tried and fined $100 plus costs in Police Court. Roberts faced assault charges but was too intoxicated to stand trial.

Trial of Bishop Bast Continues at Conference

Kansas City May 7 Trial of Bishop Anton Bast of Copenhagen continued before an Ecclesiastical Court with first signs that Rev. John P Ingerslew may testify. The conference sent the question of paying Ingerslew's salary to its judiciary committee as he sues for 10000 after civil court expulsion. Racial immigration policy was denounced as unAmerican and unchristian while a quota system was approved.
