Edgar H MecBride escaped damage when his Studebaker caught fire at the Frederick City Garage during cleaning about 9 59 this morning. Three fire departments battled the blaze, which destroyed the top of the car and damaged the dash windshield and other parts. Firemen and a large crowd responded. the fire was rapidly controlled. MecBride had fire insurance on the vehicle.

In Werden Germany May 15 Conduct of a court martial followed a plant shooting at the Krupp works. Dr Krupp von Sohten head of the Krupp works received 15 years in jail and a fine of 100000000 marks. Directors Hartwig and Orster len were each sentenced to 15 years. Director Bruhn got 10 years while Baur and Schaeffer were sentenced to 20 years each. All defendants were fined 700000000 marks.
The Associated Press reports in Moscow that a lengthy British note detailing numerous complaints against Soviet Russia could rupture Russo British relations. Britain had warned its nationals in Russia to prepare to depart on short notice, with instructions reportedly issued by the British foreign office.
