Eastern cougars seen in Maryland spark debate

State workers and hunters wonder if mountain lions exist in the area while officials say no proven wild population has been found. The Eastern Puma Research Network notes multiple reports from Maryland and other states, but Maryland officials cite misidentified animals or captive origins.
