Board weighs lease bid for Opera House from Trans- American on city terms
The Aldermen discussed Trans- American Theaters offer to lease the Opera House at the original 15 500 annual bid and to install air conditioning at no city cost, claiming a 4 000 yearly saving. They noted prior approvals for a 12 000 AC system with city ownership at lease end and a 6 000 rebate, and suggested selling the lease to the bidder. A separate request sought space near the Municipal Airport for model aircraft activities without funding.
