Maryland Circuit Court rulings center on 1941 Act allowing funeral expenses up to 300 dollars to take priority in distribution of a decedent’s personal estate. The court held the provision applies only to personal estates in Orphans Court and cannot override existing liens on real estate such as mortgages or judgments. The decision upholds priority for the Peoples Liquidating Corporation over a $300 Gladhill funeral bill.
