Brewster Opposed To Wheat Plan
Senator Daniel B. Brewster urged Maryland wheat growers to vote no in the May 21 wheat referendum on the 1964 USDA plan. He warned that the program would place government controls over farms and called for a broad no vote while urging under 15 acre growers to register to be counted. He argued 70 percent of agricultural value is not under government support and criticized USDA campaign materials as misleading.
