Acquitted On Assault Charge In Night Court
Daniel Easterday of Middlealley won a directed verdict of acquittal on assault and battery charges involving his 12-year-old daughter. Magistrate H Reese Shoemaker warned equity proceedings may clarify the matter. Neighbors testified to a frightened child during a weekend visit in Frederick. The defense argued lack of physical evidence of brutality and the judge urged equity court involvement to avoid lifelong harm to the child.
