Collision sinks Saginaw in dense fog off Virginia coast
In Norfolk on May 6 a collision between the Clyde steamship Saginaw and the liner Hamilton near Winter Quarter Lightship and Fenwick Island Lightship cost 20 or more lives. The Saginaw sank after the bow was ripped away, lifeboats capsized, and 15 women aboard the Saginaw perished in the sea. several passengers were rescued by Hamilton and Baginas boats.
