Open house marks 250-year-old Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick County, founded in 1738, unveils a major restoration completed since 1968 including Rupp House and five historic buildings on 1.5 acres. Under Rev. Francis Reinberger and Rev. W Phillip Fogarty the church hosts an open house May 6 7, marking 35th anniversary of Reinberger’s pastorate and ordination. The site, part of Frederick’s clustered spires, serves churches, schools, and community groups with 3000 baptized members and a long civic role.
