Ocean City follows in two jobs programs to expand Black hiring
Two Eastern Shore programs aim to boost Ocean City employment and curb racial bias. The Ocean City Opportunity Council has matched 16 Blacks with front desk, switchboard, secretary and hostess roles, while UMES runs a 12 week summer work study for 125 students. The programs, funded by city and county, include counseling and planned free transportation, as NAACP officials push broader minority hiring.

Commission seeks public opinion on county guidelines
