Poolesville FFA Pushes Emblems For Slow Vehicles
Poolesville FFA members push a new farm safety idea this year by backing slow-moving vehicle emblems for on road farm equipment. The 14 by 16 inch emblem, centered at the rear, is reflectorized with a dark red border and yellow orange field and visible at 500 feet. Packaging bill sparks debate at Baltimore conference
A debate between Patricia Bario and Peter Chambris on Hart's Truth-In-Pack aging bill drew 215 attendees at the Weights and Measures Conference in Baltimore. Bario urged standardization to help families save money and compare costs per unit, while Chambris warned FCC FDA limits already protect consumers and standardization could stifle innovation. The session covered posting weights on fronts, restricting misleading discounts, and truthful packaging visuals. Health officials noted risks from household poisons, urging original containers and kept medicines away from children.
