Mount Airy volunteers aid flood-ravaged Alexandria Missouri homes
Mount Airy residents led by Mayor Jerry Johnson returned from guiding a seven-member crew to Alexandria on April 16 in Howie Price’s 36-foot motorhome. Over two weeks they renovated about 12 homes, hung doors and windows, fixed plumbing, installed floors, and rebuilt a house from the ground up. The effort, part of ongoing aid since last August, has raised about $50,000 and includes community fishing and weekly dinners to support the town’s recovery.
