Frederick County teachers stall on salary talks after marathon mediation
After more than 12 hours of mediation, Frederick County Board of Education and the Frederick County Teacher's Association reached impasse on a salary package. The board offered 6.5 percent, while the association pressed for 7 percent plus senior-pay upgrades. Debates over family health care premiums, workshop pay, and department leader stipends widened the gap. A written arbitrator’s report is due within 30 days.
