State rests case in Buzbee rape trial in Maryland

In Rockville Maryland the state rested its case Monday in the Timothy Buzbee rape trial after the judge ordered him to state his name and address for the jury. The 15 year old victim testified about a distinctive jaw noise accompanying the alleged assault. Buzbee 25 of Frederick is charged with kidnapping and rape from July 30 1981 and faces additional sexual offense charges in Aspen Hill. He is held without bond pending three more trials this spring and summer. The defense showed a police line up video in which the victim could not identify Buzbee though police officers examined his voice during calls to land surveyors including his Gaithersburg office. The article notes the victim was blindfolded for most of the incident.
