Nuclear pipes leak corrosion baffling regulators at 15 plants
NRC officials reported a widespread corrosion problem in steam generators at at least 15 nuclear plants. Pipe denting and cracking, driven by a chemical reaction among acids chlorine and salt, have caused only minor radioactive water leaks inside reactors with most remains contained. Replacements are the proposed fix as experts push to understand the unusual buildup.

Steady Decline in Steel Imports Softens TPM Criticism
Pittsburgh AP reports a first quarter drop in foreign steel imports, with AIS saying the trigger price mechanism TPM is reducing dumped steel. Despite 1978 records, 3.1 million tons were imported in Q1 this year, down from 5.7 million last year as demand abroad strengthens and TPM gains traction. U.S. Steel's David Roderick says TPM is improving but could be reinforced, while calls for antidumping suits persist if TPM underperforms.
