Seattle Slew Poised for Derby Walkover Despite 18 Pack
The undefeated Seattle Slew heads to the Kentucky Derby amid confidence he will dominate. Analysts note no serious challengers, with a potential early wall of horses posing the main hazard. Slew’s energy, size, and race record drive expectations of a decisive victory.
Seattle Slew's Derby Path Marked by Mountain of Hype
Paddock Palaver sold for 17 500 in 1975 at Kentucky sale. Mickey and Karen Taylor of White Swan Washington own the colt. Seattle Slew has earned over 250 000 since his first race and is insured for 342 million. Six Pinkerton guards stand watch near his stall as owners brush off critics. The Wood Memorial served as a Derby prep, with Slew delivering a solid, workmanlike 1 1 8 miles. He remains undefeated and poised for the Preakness.
