Rate Boost Is Approved By Public Service Commission
The Public Service Commission approved Potomac Electric Power Co. to raise Maryland rates in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties. The 3.4 percent increase, effective with May 6 meter readings, adds about 933,731 dollars annually and covers urban and suburban residential, commercial and street light charges. Rockville will pay 25 percent more for street lights, urban residential rates rise 5.27 percent, and urban first 40 kWh climb from 4.25 to 4.50 cents.
