Kansas City May 2 Ten to one vote halted a bid by Rev Harold Sloan to form a committee to investigate alleged modernist influences in the Methodist Episcopal church and disloyalty to core articles of faith. The Bishops urged respect for science and warned against attacking scientists while the conference approved a seventeen minister court to hear charges against Bishop Anton Bast amid turmoil over church morals and discipline.
