The Frederick Clearing House reports total bank clearings for May 1 1926 to April 30 1927 at 25,106,794.69 dollars, up from 24,305,882.23 the prior year, a gain of 2.46 percent. A 34 year study by Edwin C. Markell shows a long rise with wartime and postwar fluctuations, and the past month totals 2,227,046.31.
