A windstorm in Emmitsburg caused damage estimated at 25 000 dollars as roofs ripped away and debris filled the Square. The Keilholtz building sustained 10 000 to 12 000 dollars in losses, while power and telephone lines were down and cars were damaged by falling debris. Rainfall totaled .91 inch with 82 degree highs dropping after the storm.
Newton A Fulton a well known resident of Frederick county died Wednesday evening at his Walkersville home at age 61. He was born in Frederick county near Woodsboro son of the late H Clay and Emily J Fulton. He moved to Walkersville in 1904 and kept his farm lands with pride after retirement. Surviving are a stepson and a niece from his first marriage. The body rests at the funeral home until 11 am Friday with services Saturday at 2 pm Interment Glade Cemetery.
Washington says the United States approved extra credits to Mexico and agreed to stabilize the peso dollar exchange. The joint communique notes the credit amount is not estimated and will fund projects to aid Mexico’s economy, presented to the Export Import Bank by Mexico.

The railroad disaster at Boyer Ridge four miles west of Huntingdon involved a westbound freight carrying steel that pierced two gondola cars and damaged another coach.
