Lewistown man Henry Sappington lost $400 in cash while en route to claim his bride. He swore out a warrant against “Skinny” Thompson, but the arrest ended with Thompson’s acquittal. Judge Anders warned against further trouble as Sappington seeks his money and a license.
The Frederick County Farmers Association plans its regular monthly meeting on Saturday at 16 o'clock PM. Prof Thomas H Spence acting president of Maryland Agricultural College is expected to attend and speak on farmers organizations. A key item is preparations for the hearing before the Public Service Commission on May 29 concerning mitime rates through county exchanges. Delegation from the association will attend the hearing and Kemp agricultural teacher at Boys High Schools Frederica and Middletown is to speak for the contesting group forming a county dairymen and farmers alliance.
Two young ladies on East Third Street were frightened last evening when an unusual noise at their home suggested a break in. They summoned two passing young men for help. The source of the commotion proved to be several books falling from a shelf, easing their fears.

A 100 day dog quarantine is in force across Gettysburg area townships Franklin Menallen Butler Straban Cumberland and boroughs Arendtsville Bendersville Biglerville Gettysburg after mad dogs and livestock bites. The Court of Appeals remanded the State Roads Commission v Muller et al case to Baltimore County Court to reassess overdrawn funds from the $5,000,000 Road Loan. The Junior Order of Moose of Frederick held a preliminary meeting receiving 60 youths ages 16 to 20 for junior membership. Officers were elected for the new junior department to feed the senior order. The lodge will be in Masonic Temple and aims for about 200 members in two weeks.
Dr H V Datrow of the Dayton sanitary staff reports remarkable sanitation work after the flood. Major Thomas L Rhoads commends the sanitary corps and Red Cross efforts that reduced Dayton illness to about half pre flood levels.
