FBI optimistic end to Waco standoff with Koresh talks
The FBI said it was cautiously optimistic after two days of meetings between Branch Davidian leader David Koresh and his lawyer Dick DeGuerin, hoping negotiations nearing a conclusion to the standoff that began after the February 28 deadly shootout. DeGuerin planned another session for Wednesday, saying progress was made and Koresh seemed ready to exit. Koresh and more than 90 followers have been inside the compound since the gunfight that left several dead.
