Maryland Bonus Bill Fails In House
Annapolis reports the Maryland House of Delegates again rejected a veterans bonus funded by a lottery, 71 votes short of passage, killing the bill for this session. The next day the House rejected a Senate tax plan to raise 30 million dollars without raising taxes, prompting debate on alternative plans and delaying the budget process.
